Healthy living is better than living longer. Thanks to medical advancements and modern living hacks, reaching 100 is not a dream. The average lifespan has increased from 47 years to 82. And it’s quite astonishing to watch people easily living 100, even beyond. But with growing age, comes aging problems like arthritis, heart diseases, respiratory ailments, etc.
Researchers reveal that changing certain lifestyle habits one can live up to 100. If we focus on three aspects of our life, i.e. genes, environment and lifestyle, then 100 is just a figure. Well the genes descended from parents cannot be helped, but modifying our lifestyle with the environment can be influential. Study shows only 20% of longevity denotes to genes, rest 80% depends on lifestyle.

- Exercise-The Keyword for Living Longer
A study, unveils the fact that vigorous exercising, add up 4-5 years to an average life span. Exercising tends to release Endorphins, a pain relieving chemical which boosts up the mind. Take up meditation for 30 minutes daily to distress and improve the immune mechanism of the body. Practicing yoga builds body strength, flexibility and self confidence.
- Balance Your Diet- Avoid overeating
Fuel up your body with a balanced diet. Meals equipped with fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, cereals with adequate water turn out to be essential for healthy living. Do not stick to the same food items, but vary your tastes. A varied diet is often a healthy diet. Try for super foods rich in vitamins, minerals, proteins and fibers instead of junk food items.

Stay away from chronic stress. It sounds easy then to be done, but aging faster with higher levels of stress. Stress releases a hormone Cortisol, which increases the risk of dying with cardiovascular disease. Take up calming activities like exercising, spend time in the midst of nature, and take up hobby classes. Involve yourself in things you enjoy.
- Stay Connected- Be Socially Active
Loneliness leads to depression. The sole feeling of being alone and isolated creates a void and strikes with emotional pain. Develop stronger relationships and try to maintain them. People with friends tend to live longer and stronger. Take a walk with a loved one. Spend time with elderly folk. Play around with kids.

Going on is not only thrilling, but it rejuvenates your living senses. A study says, people taking frequent breaks tend to add 2-3 years to their life span. Pick up new things; go for trekking, kayaking, bungee jumping, etc. Gripping on a break soothes your mind and increases emotional stability. Plus, it garners you with breathtaking excitement and cherishing memories.
